I paid a visit to cafe Concerto yesterday and I must say that although the prices of the food will make you do a double take, there is no denying that the cakes served are absolute perfection, a delicacy if you will.
I ordered a strawberry gateaux, a single espresso and a slice of vegan pistachio cake for my party. The strawberry gateaux was second-to-none. The light notes of the cream paired with the airy yet thin sponge was complemented by the slight tang of the strawberries and mellow texture of strawberry jelly. It was a match made in cake heaven. I would say that the cake was quite sweet but the espresso did an excellent job cutting through that sweetness to make a perfect afternoon dessert.
Having tried cafe Concerto’s ice cream as well as their blueberry tart, I must say that there is a treat for everyone at this establishment, not to mention the elegant and ambient atmosphere which only makes the customers eager for more.
I will be returning to Birmingham and you can bet Cafe Concerto is on my list.

Got some desert to go. Amazing. And the service was great too.
Afternoon Tea is so worth it! Brilliant customer service by Guiseppe (might have spelt the name wrong)
Really clean, great service, presentation of food and variety is so good! Reasonable covid measures in place.
Recommend a try
Price: £27.50 for afternoon tea for 2 pp and an additional iced tea as it was incredibly hot today/day of visit.
Revisit: Yes! Customer Service alone was enough to bring me back.
Favourite Bit: The chutney and cheddar sandwich, the customer service, the presentation, the fresh scones and open plan layout, manage to fit us in the afternoon tea slow within an hour.
Least favourite: Did not get to try the salmon as it was last min and they ran out. The mozzarella and pesto replacement was definitely not for us. (Only part of the meal we didnt finish)
Overall: a solid 4/5
